Patriots activate Thomas, place Wright on IR

The New England Patriots activated defensive lineman Santonio Thomas from their practice squad and placed defensive lineman Mike Wright on injured reserve.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (Jan. 7, 2006) -- The New England Patriots activated defensive lineman Santonio Thomas from their practice squad and placed defensive lineman Mike Wright on injured reserve.

Thomas, an undrafted rookie who played at Miami, was on the practice squad for the last 14 weeks of the regular season.

Wright, who hurt his ankle Jan. 1 in the regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins, played college ball at Cincinnati and was the only undrafted free agent on New England's active roster on opening day.

The moves were made before the Patriots' playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
