The Patriots dealt a draft pick Friday afternoon, but not one of its first rounders as has been speculated. This one involved the Patriots sending their second of two third round picks in this year's draft (No. 78 overall) to the Miami Dolphins for a second round pick in 2004.
The 78th pick was obtained from New Orleans in the Tebucky Jones deal, which means the Patriots essentially acquired a seventh rounder this year and second and fourth round picks in 2004 for Jones.
