Pats sign OL Teag Whiting to Practice Squad; Release OL Matt Knutson from Practice Squad

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots added offensive lineman Teag Whiting to their practice squad and subsequently released practice squad offensive lineman Matt Knutson today.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots added offensive lineman Teag Whiting to their practice squad and subsequently released practice squad offensive lineman Matt Knutson today.

Whiting, 23, originally signed with the Oakland Raiders as a rookie free agent following the 2002 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-3-inch, 320-pound lineman started two years at BYU and was a member of a Cougar offense that averaged over 500 yards per game in total offense during the 2001 season.

Knutson, 23, originally signed with the New York Jets as a rookie free agent on April 26, 2002. He went to training camp with the Jets, but was waived on Aug. 26, 2002. The 6-foot-7-inch, 315-pound tackle is a native of Minot, N.D. and was a three-year starter at left tackle for the University of North Dakota.
