Saints, Giants and NFLPA donate $2.4 million

The New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, and NFL Players Association announced Sept. 19 the donation of an additional $2.4 million for Hurricane Katrina relief.

(Sept. 19, 2005) -- The New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, and NFL Players Association announced Sept. 19 the donation of an additional $2.4 million for Hurricane Katrina relief.

The Saints and Giants will contribute $1 million of the gate proceeds from their game at Giants Stadium. Along with a portion of gate proceeds, the Giants contributed an additional $400,000 on the evening and the NFL Players Association announced that it would give $1 million to the Gulf Coast recovery effort on behalf of all NFL players.

The NFL, its owners, teams, and players collectively have donated $11 million toward Hurricane Katrina relief.
