Are you a runner? Here's your chance to join the Patriots Marathon Team! Each year, the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation fields a team of runners that run the marathon and raise funds for the Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards. Last year, the funds raised by the marathon team provided grants to 26 nonprofit organizations representing all of the New England states in the names of individuals who volunteered their time to support the nonprofit.
Want to be a Patriot? Why not join our team! The Patriots Platelet Pedalers, the team's fundraising initiative to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Patriots Platelet Pedalers is a team in the Pan Massachusetts Challenge, a weekend-long charity bicycle ride to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Started in 1980, the Pan Mass Challenge is the largest charity bicycling event in the country, raising over $500 million for cancer research and treatment.
The Patriots Platelet Pedalers will pedal together to fundraise for Dana-Farber, with the money earmarked for Dr. Ken Anderson, the Kraft Family Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, to support his multiple myeloma research and development of novel therapies. The Kraft family has had a long affiliation with Dr. Anderson, supporting his efforts to find a cure for multiple myeloma through the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center at Dana-Farber.
The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation's Patriots Premiere is held each year and marks the start of the football season. In this unique event, Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft and the entire team of Patriots players and coaches gather for an evening of celebrating the upcoming season through dinner, live and silent auctions as well as a special program with remarks from Kraft and Head Coach Bill Belichick. During the evening, the team honors one Patriot player with the Ron Burton Community Service Award, given to the player who demonstrates the highest commitment to giving back to the community.
