INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 16, 2005) -- Indianapolis placed backup offensive lineman Joaquin Gonzalez on injured reserve and signed Kurt Vollers.

Gonzalez sprained his right ankle while on special teams during the 31-17 victory over Houston.

Vollers played with the Dallas Cowboys in 2003 and 2004 and started 12 games. The 6-foot-7, 315-pound tackle was in training camp with the Colts in 2002, signing as an undrafted free agent from Notre Dame.

There was no update on safety Bob Sanders ' knee injury. Sanders, a starter, injured his knee in the game, although coach Tony Dungy said that an MRI showed no structural damage.

The Colts also signed offensive lineman Clint Stickdom to the practice squad.
