The Patriots' 59-0 win over the Tennessee Titans ties the largest shutout victory by an NFL team since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. The following are notes from the game.

NEW ENGLAND SETS RECORD WITH 59 POINTS
The Patriots' 59 points aganst the Oilers today set a new team record. The previous team best was 56 points scored at Buffalo on Nov. 18, 2007 (56-10) and against the N.Y. Jets on Sept. 9, 1979 (56-3). New England has now scored 50 or more points eight times in team history, including three times since Bill Belichick became coach of the Patriots in 2000.

PATRIOTS SET TEAM RECORD FOR TOTAL NET YARDS
The Patriots gained a franchise-record 619 total net yards against the Oilers this afternoon, including 426 passing yards and 193 rushing yards. New England surpassed the previous franchise record of 597 total net yards, achieved on Sept. 9, 1979 in a 56-3 win over the New York Jets at Schaefer Stadium in Foxborough. The 619-yard performance was the fifth-highest single-game total by an NFL team since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger and was the ninth 600-yard game by an NFL team since 1970.

PATRIOTS RECORD SEVENTH SHUTOUT OF BELICHICK ERA
The Patriots shut out the Oilers today, recording their first shutout of the season and their first since downing the Buffalo Bills 13-0 in the 2008 season finale. Today's shutout was the seventh for the Patriots since Bill Belichick became head coach in 2000. New England had three shutouts in 2003, one in 2005, one in 2006 and one in 2008.

THE PATRIOTS' 45-0 HALFTIME LEAD WAS THE LARGEST HALFTIME LEAD IN NFL HISTORY
New England's 45-0 halftime lead against the Oilers was the largest halftime lead in NFL history. The previous largest halftime lead was 42 points, when Green Bay held a 49-7 lead vs. Tampa Bay on October 2, 1983.

PATRIOTS SCORE 45 POINTS IN FIRST HALFThe Patriots' 45 first half points are the most points in any half in franchise history. The previous best was 42 points in the first half at Miami on October 21, 2007.The 45-0 halftime margin is the largest in team history, besting the 38-0 halftime lead the Patriots had on October 22, 1961 against Buffalo.

THE PATRIOTS SCORE 35 POINTS IN SECOND QUARTER
The Patriots' 35 second quarter points are the most points that the Patriots have scored in a single quarter in team history, besting the 28 points the team scored in the second quarter at Miami on October 21, 2007.

PATRIOTS GO DEEP FOR THREE PLAYS OF 40 OR MORE YARDS
The Patriots had three plays of 40 or more yards in the first half against Tennessee after entering the game with no plays of 40 or more yards in the first five games of the 2009 season. RB Laurence Maroney scored on a 45-yard touchdcown run in the first quarter. QB Tom Brady connected with WR Wes Welker on a 48-yard reception in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Brady hit WR Randy Moss on a 40-yard touchdown pass. Last season, the Patriots had eight plays of 40 or more yards for the entire season. The last time New England had three plays of 40 or more yards in a game was December 23, 2007 at Miami. Maroney had runs of 59 and 51 and WR Jabar Gaffney had a 48-yard cacth.

BRADY GOES OVER 300 IN THE FIRST HALF
Toim Brady had 345 yards passing in the first half, setting a Patriots record for most passing yards in a half. His previous best was when he had 291 yards passing in the first half at Miami on October 21, 2007. Brady finished the game with 380 yards passing and now has 25 career 300-yard passing games. His 300-yard game total is second in New England history to Drew Bledsoe, who has 26 300-yard games. Today's game was the second 300 yard game of the 2009 season for Brady. He passed for 378 yards in the season-opener vs. Buffalo (9/14).

BRADY THROWS FIVE TOUCHDOWN PASSES IN THE SECOND QUARTER
Tom Brady's five touchdowns in the second quarter are the highest in a single quarter in NFL history. His five touchdowns tie the most in Brady's career in a single half. Brady also had five touchdowns in the first half at Miami on Oct. 21, 2007.

BRADY THROWS FOR SIX TOUCHDOWNS
Tom Brady tied a career high with six touchdown passes. He also had six scoring passes on October 21, 2007 at Miami. Brady has thrown for five touchdowns in a game two times and has had four touchdowns in a game seven times.

THE GREATEST SHOW IN SNOW
The Patriots improved to 11-0 all-time in games in Foxborough when snow has fallen during the game. Below is a list of all of the Patriots' snow games in Foxborough since they moved from Boston in 1971.

BOUNCING BACKThe Patriots improved to 20-1 in games following a loss since the beginning of the 2003 season. Over that span, the Patriots have only lost back-to-back games on one occasion (11/5/06 and 11/12/06). New England has won its last eight games following losses.

PATRIOTS OFF TO GOOD START
The Patriots are 4-2 in the 2009 season and have started the season with at least four wins in their first six games for the fourth straight year and for the fifth time in the last eight seasons.

BRADY IS ALWAYS AT HOME AT GILLETTE STADIUMTom Brady has won 19 straight starts at home (including the playoffs), a streak that began following a 17-14 loss to the New York Jets on Nov. 12, 2006. Brady's overall home record (58-10, .853) is the best since the NFL merger in 1970.

BRADY, MOSS AND WELKER COMBINE TO WIN AT GILLETTE STADIUMTom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker have never lost a game while playing together at Gillette Stadium. Brady and Moss are a perfect 15-0 (including the playoffs). Welker missed one home game in 2009 (Atlanta) and is 14-0 with Brady and Moss.

BRADY MULTIPLE TD NOTESBrady has thrown for two or more touchdowns in a game 66 times. The Patriots' record in games when Brady has two or more touchdowns is 58-8.

MOSS SCORES TWO OR MORE TDS FOR THE 33RD TIME IN HIS NFL CAREER
WR Randy Moss had three touchdown catches, recording his eighth career game with three or more scoring catches and his 33rd game with two or more touchdown receptions. Moss scored on touchdown passes of 40 and 28 yards from Tom Brady in the second quarter and added a nine-yard score in the third quarter. Moss's 33 games with two or more touchdown catches is second in NFL history to Jeery Rice's 44 games with two or more touchdown receptions. Moss has caught two or more touchdown passes in a game as a member of the Patriots 12 times.

MOSS GOES OVER 100 YARDS RECEIVING
Ranyd Moss registered his third 100-yard game of the 2009 season and the 62nd 100-yard game of his career with eight catches for 129 yards. Moss's 62 100-yard games are second in NFL history to Jerry Rice's 76. Moss had 141 yards receiving vs. Buffalo (9/14) and 116 vs. Atlanta (9/27).

LAURENCE MARONEY GOES OVER 100 YARDSLaurence Maroney registered his fifth career regular-season 100-yard game after finishing with 123 yards rushing. It is the second 100-yard game of the 2009 season for New England. Fred Taylor had a 105-yard rushing performance vs. Atlanta (9/27).

LAURENCE MARONEY SCORES ON A 45-YARD RUNRB Laurence Maroney's 45-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was the third longest run of his career. He had a career-best 59-yard touchdown run and a 51-yard run vs. Miami (12-23-07). It is the longest run since Lamont Jordan had a 49-yard touchdown at Oakland on December 14, 2008.

BRADY CONNECTS DEEP WITH WELKER
Tom Brady connected on a 48-yard pass to WR Wes Welker. It is the longest pass of the season for Brady and the longest in the regular-season since the 2007 season-finale when he completed his 50th touchdown pass of that season on a 65-yard touchdown pass to WR Randy Moss. It is the second longest reception of Welker's career. He had a 64-yard reception at Miami (11-23-08) from QB Matt Cassel. The play is the longest pass play from Brady to Welker, besting a 42-yard pass vs. Philadelphia on November 25, 2007.

FAULK SCORES ON A 38-YARD TOUCHDOWN CATCH
Kevin Faulk's 38-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter was the third longest touchdown reception of his career, behind a 52-yard score vs. Miami (12-24-2000) and a 43-yard score (12-24-2006) at Jacksonville. Faulk's third longest grab came on the 398th catch of his 11-year career.

PATRIOTS FORCE FIVE TURNOVERS; GET A TAKEAWAY IN 15 STRAIGHT GAMES
New England forced a season-high five turnovers against the Oilers today, recovering three fumbles and snaring two interceptions. The Patriots did not turn the ball over and were 5 in turnover differential this afternoon. The Patriots have forced at least one forced turnover in 15 straight games and have recovered at least one opponents' fumble in each game this season.

GOSTKOWSKI RACKS UP POINTSStephen Gostkowski entered today's game leading in the AFC and ranking second in the NFL with 44 points. With eight extra points and a field goal today, he now stands at 55 points and is on track to score 147 points. Last season, Gostkowski set a post-merger team record with an NFL-best 148 points. Gino Cappelletti is the only player in franchise history with two seasons of 140 points or more (147 in 1961 and team record 155 points in 1964)

WELKER KEEPS IT UP
Wes Welker registered his first 100-yard receiving game of the 2009 season (the ninth 100-yard performance of his NFL career), finishing the game with 10 catches for 150 yards. Welker has had six or more receptions in 18 of his last 20 regular-season games.

HOYER MAKES NFL DEBUT
Rookie quarterback Brian Hoyer entered the game in the third quarter and scored a rushing touchdown in his NFL debut. Hoyer completed 9-of-11 passes for 52 yards.
