Patriots.com News Blitz - 5/20/2008

In today's Patriots.com News Blitz... Passing camp gets underway at Gillette Stadium.

With Patriots Passing camp currently underway at Gillette Stadium, the Boston Herald notes that all of the new cornerbacks brought in during the offseason by the team took turns defending against the NFL's top offense run by its best quarterback. For the newcomers, organized team activities such as the current passing camp will help get everyone up to speed and on the same page for mini camp and training camp down the road.

"We all had some turns against him," said cornerback Jason Webster about lining up against Moss at Gillette Stadium. "They didn't just stick one of us on him the whole time. But it's definitely beneficial having to go up against a quarterback like Tom and a receiver like Randy, and what they can do."

The Boston Herald's Inside Track notes that Patriots linebacker and special teams ace Larry Izzo will be hosting his karaoke fundraiser "Salute to the Troops" on June 4th at The Roxy. The event hosted by Larry and his wife, Mara, will feature many Patriots players singing their favorite songs, as well as sponsors and special guests. Tickets to Izzo's "Salute to the Troops" are $50 at Ticketmaster.

The Boston Globe takes a look at the NFL owners meetings currently taking place in Atlanta. Some of the topics being discussed are possible changes to the preseason schedule, the awarding of the 2012 Super Bowl venue and several rule changes.
