The New England Patriots announced the signings of 16 rookie free agents today, as more than 30 prospects report to this year's rookie mini-camp. Those non-drafted rookie free agents will be joined by the Patriots 2003 draft class (10 players) and a handful of other hopefuls who have been invited for weekend tryouts. With today's signings, the Patriots presently report 90 players on their current roster, including eight players who have been allocated to NFL Europe.
Brown University's wide receiver Chas Gessner is one of five wide receivers signed today. There were also three linebackers, three defensive linemen, three defensive backs and two offensive linemen added to the roster.
