The New England Patriots signed punter Daniel Pope today. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Pope, 28, has averaged 40.9 yards per kick while playing in 33 games during his three-year NFL career. He has totaled 8,146 yards on 199 punts, including 40 kicks inside the 20-yard line while playing with Kansas City (1999), Cincinnati (2000) and New York Jets (2001). The 5-foot-10-inch, 203-pound punter achieved career highs in punts (101), yards (4,218), average (41.8) and punts inside the 20 (20) while with the Chiefs in 1999.
