A week after the Patriots added much-needed veteran depth at linebacker by signing James Anderson, the team reportedly continues to look to strengthen the position.

According to various reports New England hosted a free agent visit with former Browns linebacker Quentin Groves in Foxborough on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old Groves has a versatile skillset. His 6-3, 265-pound frame could make him option at both outside linebacker (in either a 3-4 or a 4-3) and defensive end. He also played a key role on special teams for Cleveland, although he played in just five games last fall.

In his six seasons spread across time with the Jaguars, Raiders, Cardinals and Browns the former second-round pick played in 84 games totaling 157 tackles and 8.5 sacks.

Groves is reportedly taking a visit in Washington on Thursday.
