Zauner hired as Arizona special teams coach

TEMPE, Ariz. (Jan. 5, 2006) -- Arizona hired former Baltimore Ravens assistant Gary Zauner as special teams coach.

Zauner replaces Kevin O'Dea, one of two assistants fired by coach Dennis Green.

Zauner has been an NFL assistant for 12 seasons, the last four as special teams coordinator for the Ravens. He was special teams coach under Green with the Minnesota Vikings from 1994-2001. He also coached college athletes at BYU, San Diego State, New Mexico and Long Beach State.

The Cardinals have two remaining coaching vacancies, offensive line coach and defensive line coach. Offensive line coach Everett Lindsey was fired and defensive line coach Deek Pollard retired.
