Bears sign sixth-round pick Harris

Sixth-round draft pick Chris Harris of Louisiana-Monroe, the nation's interceptions leader last season, agreed to a four-year contract with the Chicago Bears.

CHICAGO (June 1, 2005) -- Sixth-round draft pick Chris Harris of Louisiana-Monroe, the nation's interceptions leader last season, agreed to a four-year contract with the Chicago Bears.

Harris, 6-1 1/2, 214, was the only defensive back chosen by the Bears this year. Harris had seven interceptions in 2004, twice clinching victories by picking off passes. He was involved in 96 tackles last season and is considered more of a strong safety prospect because of his tackling ability.
