Bob's Discount Furniture and the American Red Cross Team Up with Patriots for a Blood Drive at Gille

Bob's Discount Furniture and the American Red Cross are teaming up with the New England Patriots to host a "mega" blood drive and family event at Gillette Stadium on November 13, 2010 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

(Foxboro, MA) - Bob's Discount Furniture and the American Red Cross are teaming up with the New England Patriots to host a "mega" blood drive and family event at Gillette Stadium on November 13, 2010 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Eligible blood donors will have the opportunity to come in to give blood inside the luxurious Fidelity Investments Clubhouse West. Organizers are hoping to collect more than 500 units of lifesaving blood for patients in need.

All attendees will be entered into a drawing for a player signed football, Patriots tickets and other prizes sponsored by 98.5 The Sports Hub Radio. During the blood drive, Patriots Legends Roland James and Steve Nelson and Patriots cheerleaders are scheduled to appear. A photographer will be on hand to provide snapshots of attendees with the legends and cheerleaders.

There will be a special appearance by Bob Kaufman and Cathy Poulin of Bob's Discount Furniture. In addition to sponsoring the event, Bob's Discount Furniture has generously donated 12 recliners total to be raffled off throughout the event, every two hours and one lucky winner will receive a reclining sofa and loveseat. Bob's Discount furniture has donated the furniture to thank generous blood donors and also to support a sufficient blood supply for patients in need.

This family fun filled event is also the official kickoff of the 2nd Annual Bob's Discount Furniture High School Heroes $100,000 Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Program recognizes outstanding high school seniors in Massachusetts and Connecticut who have made exceptional contributions to their schools' volunteer blood donor programs. Donors will have the opportunity to have their blood donation applied to a high school of their choice as part of the Scholarship Program.

About the American Red Cross:
The American Red Cross has been a primary supplier of lifesaving blood products in the United States for more than 50 years. The American Red Cross Blood Services - Northeast Division must distribute approximately 3,000 units of blood each day just to meet the basic needs of area patients. To donate blood and platelets through the Red Cross, individuals must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health.
