Henderson Award Highlights Patriots 2025 Rookie Contributions

TreVeyon Henderson won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for November, but he’s only one part of an impactful rookie class that has helped the Patriots turn things around.

The Patriots resurgence in 2025 has been boosted by a wave of rookie talent, and now one of those first-year standouts is taking home hardware. Running back TreVeyon Henderson has been named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for November, capping a stretch where he became a centerpiece of New England's offense during a perfect 4-0 month.

When veteran Rhamondre Stevenson went down with a toe injury, Henderson seized the opportunity and delivered in a big way. Across four November wins, he showcased versatility and explosiveness:

  • Week 9 vs. Falcons (24-23): 14 carries for 55 yards, plus 4 catches for 32 yards. Henderson helped keep the chains moving in a tight game.
  • Week 10 at Buccaneers (28-23): A breakout performance with 147 rushing yards on 14 carries, including touchdown runs of 55 and 69 yards.
  • Week 11 vs. Jets (27-14): Career-high workload with 19 carries for 62 yards and two rushing touchdowns, plus five receptions for 31 yards and his first career receiving TD.
  • Week 12 at Bengals (26-20): 18 carries for 66 yards and 3 receptions for 15 yards, grinding out tough fourth-quarter yards to help seal the win.

In total, Henderson racked up 342 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, and one receiving score in November, proving he can handle an expanded role in the coming playoff push.

He's the first Patriots offensive rookie to win this award since September 2002, when wide receiver Deion Branch earned the honor. That's a 23-year gap between offensive rookie standouts, a sign of how rare and impactful Henderson's emergence has been.

But Henderson's rise is just one piece of a bigger story. Other members of the Patriots 2025 rookie class have been instrumental in the team's 11-2 start:

  • Will Campbell has solidified the left tackle spot, protecting Drake Maye's blindside after earning the starting role out of training camp. The fourth-overall pick started 12 games before landing on IR.
  • Kyle Williams has flashed big-play ability at receiver, including a 72-yard touchdown against Tampa Bay, and a 33-yard touchdown against the Giants. After just five catches in his first eight games, he has eight catches in his last five games as he continues to make growing contributions.
  • Jared Wilson has started 11 games at left guard, playing a significant role for the remade offensive line.
  • Craig Woodson has played 98 percent of the defensive snaps at safety. He ranks third on the team in total tackles.
  • Andy Borregales and Julian Ashby were thrust into the special teams fire this season and both have delivered solid seasons, with Borregales winning AFC Special Teams Player of the Week in November. The kicker has made 23-of-26 kicks and 36-of-38 points, setting a team record for rookie points scored in a single season while Ashby's snapping has been flawless.
  • Undrafted rookie Elijah Ponder has also come on recently with increased opportunities, registering three sacks in the last four games.

Henderson might've gotten the award, but his stellar month is very much connected to this rookie group, from the players blocking in front of him to the defenders helping to get the ball back to the offense and the special teams players who added on critical extra points and field goals.

Henderson and his fellow rookies are defining the identity of a team that looks poised for a serious postseason run.
