Matt Light, 3-Time Super Bowl Champion and NFL Pro Bowler of the New England Patriots and Orvis, the country's premier wingshooting and fly-fishing company, are pleased to announce a new partnership in the First Annual Matt Light Foundation "Big Shots" Celebrity Sporting Clays Event—Saturday, May 16th, 2009.
Big Shots is the only sporting clays event to bring top NFL players from across the league to shoot for a day with NFL fans and shooting enthusiasts for a great cause. Any person or corporation interested in shooting or the outdoors, or who is simply a big NFL fan who understands the value of helping kids get engaged in the outdoors, will want to be part of this event.
The new partnership is a perfect fit, as The Light Foundation and Orvis both share the same vision of helping kids gain their full potential through outdoor experiences such as clays shooting, fly fishing, camping, and more.
Jim Lepage, Vice President of Orvis Rod & Tackle and Sporting Traditions said, "I really like this idea of helping kids get involved in the outdoors who otherwise wouldn't. I think it is very cool we are doing it at Sandanona."
"I'm extremely delighted to be able to partner with Orvis, I know this relationship will result in more kids learning and appreciating the outdoors," added Matt Light.
For an NFL fan it is sure to be a memorable and fun day like no other they've ever experienced. The day will include a catered breakfast, lunch, a 100-target sporting clays shoot, post-shoot cocktails, all with the players. Plus plenty of time to mingle and take photos.
The day ends with a brief live auction of signed sports memorabilia, fine sporting gifts, a cocktail or three, fun shooting awards handed out by Matt, and a special gift to remember the unique day.
The event has a limited number of team spots and attendance is by purchased ticket only. Those individuals or companies interested in forming teams or coming solo should reserve a spot today by contacting Peggy Long at Orvis Sandanona at: 845.677.9701 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
