Dating back to Rob Gronkowski’s admission on Super Bowl night that he might consider retirement this offseason, there has been speculation and reports regarding the possibility that the Patriots might trade the All-Pro tight end.

That speculation continued this week with a story on the Boston Sports Journal website siting some league executives saying that they believe a Gronkowski trade remains a possibility until the playmaker receives a new contract from New England.

Today, WEEI.com declares that trading Gronkowski would make no sense for the Patriots at this point.

The Boston Herald notes that the NFLPA filed a grievance challenging the NFL’s new National Anthem policy.

ESPN.com’s Q&A continues with a look at some of the rising stars in the AFC East.

WEEI.com has also been doing an all-time Bill Belichick Patriots team this summer, including today’s selection at right tackle.

WWLP.com notes that Patriots safety Patrick Chung has been named the honorary pace car driver for the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series coming up on July 22 in New Hampshire.
