Patriots acquire DL Danny Shelton in a trade with Cleveland

The New England Patriots announced that they have acquired defensive lineman Danny Shelton in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that they have acquired defensive lineman Danny Shelton in a trade with the Cleveland Browns. Terms of the trade were not announced.

Shelton, 24, is a veteran of three NFL seasons with Cleveland. The 6-foot-2, 335-pounder, was originally drafted by Cleveland in the first round (12th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Washington. He has played in 46 NFL games with 45 starts and has accumulated 128 total tackles, 1½ sacks and one pass defensed. Last season, he started all 14 games that he played in and finished with 33 total tackles.
