FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today the signing of first-round draft choice DE Chandler Jones. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Jones, a defensive end from Syracuse, was selected by the Patriots in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft with the 21st pick overall.
Jones, 6-5, 265 pounds, was a three-year starter at Syracuse, who finished his career with 147 total tackles, 10.0 sacks, five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. As a junior in 2011, he was named All-Big East after finishing with 38 total tackles and 4.5 sacks despite being limited to just seven games.
