What They're Saying: Miami Dolphins

Find out what Miami Dolphins coaches and players are saying about their upcoming game against the New England Patriots.

On the game...
"It's exciting to play this game. We know what's at stake for us. It's the next game, but we're excited for the opportunity to have them come play us at home. For me, personally, I didn't play as much that first go-around, so it'll be exciting this next time. We understand what's at stake. It's still a big game. We're not looking ahead. We're looking to this weekend."
Dolphins Running Back Jay Ajayi

"It's one game at a time. I think everybody is aware of the scenarios; but again, it's the same focus every week. We're working to win one game and that's kind of where our heads are at right now."
- Dolphins Quarterback Matt Moore

On success at home against the Patriots...
"I think it's always important to protect your home, so at the end of the day, I'm hopefully we can continue that streak. But at the end of the day, we have to understand what we have to do for this particular game and go from there."
- Dolphins Defensive Tackle Ndamukong Suh

"I think we still have things that we have to continue to improve on and build on but we definitely feel like we have the home-field advantage here."
- Dolphins Wide Receiver Jarvis Landry

On the Patriots success...
"I think it's just that consistency of not getting complacent ever. I think as the season goes on and so many things they do in all three phases, there's always improvement throughout the year and that's just the sign of a really good coaching staff and it's a sign of players that are willing to learn and willing to put forth the effort to get better during the season."
- Dolphins Head Coach Adam Gase

On the Patriots defense and focus on stopping the run...
"I think that they'll respect what we've been able to do in the run game. They have a great defense up there. We understand that we're going to get a great challenge out of them. We understand that we're going to have to be on our keys, make sure that we are very disciplined out there and that we put ourselves in a great position to win."
- Dolphins Running Back Jay Ajayi

On the Patriots run game...
"I don't think it's anything different then what they've really done in the past. I think it's really what's best for that game. I know last year they didn't have the success they wanted to running the football, but this year they seem to have found a good groove. When you get leads in a game, that's when your rushing attempts go up because they can finish the game the way they want to and account for everybody in the box with some of the personnel groupings that they're going with, and the physical mindset that they've had and the way that they've been running the ball. They've done a good job. They've implemented a power run game and they've been successful with it."
- Dolphins Head Coach Adam Gase

On defending against the Patriots offense...
"They have their running game going pretty well, especially with LeGarrette Blount. So we have to first and foremost stop that, and then obviously when Tom (Brady) is back there and throwing the ball, we have to make sure we touch him and get after him so he's uncomfortable."
- Dolphins Defensive Tackle Ndamukong Suh

On what stands out about the Patriots...
"Well, they're obviously well coached. There are a lot of the same things – a bunch of guys that play hard. It seems like they plug anybody in and they're going to know the system and execute. They're a very disciplined team. Those are the things that I think stand out and again, offensively for us, it just comes down to execution and understanding that those guys, they don't make many mistakes. We've got to come out and execute."
- Dolphins Quarterback Matt Moore
