The Cheer for Dana-Farber program encourages local cheerleading squads from around New England to rally and raise funds for cancer care and research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Â Since 2013, approximately $300,000 has been raised by more than 6,000 participants! Â Contributing teams are entered to win amazing and unique prizes.
This year, teams that raised more than $1,000 were entered to win the grand prize - the chance to perform prior to a Patriots home game! Â Four teams were chosen including Southington Valley Midget Cheer League, Melrose Youth Cheer, Rocket Cheer and Bentley University. Â The four teams performed at Gillette Stadium in front of thousands of fans prior to the home game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, December 4. Â Click here to see great photos from the day.
The top nine fundraising teams also won the opportunity to attend a cheerleading clinic hosted by the Patriots Cheerleaders. Â The clinic will take place in January. Â Check back soon for clinic photos.Â
