Head Coach Bill Belichick has been labeled as a "no-nonsense, attention to detail" leader for the Patriots. While some players are willing to concede the truth behind this description, they also reveal a different side of the coach.
WR Wes Welkeris quoted in a *Boston Herald *article as saying, "You just have to make sure you do those things, and he trusts you, and things are usually a lot smoother with him."
Welker's new running mate, WR Greg Lewissaid, “I thought coach Belichick was a tough guy, real stringent, army-like and all of that, but being here and being around him, really he’s just passionate about football and he wants to get the best out of his players."
Another veteran that spoke to the media after the first practice of training camp was RB Fred Taylor. In addition to praising his head coach, Taylor talked about his experience and how he plans to use his knowledge to help improve this team.
"I've been around for a while,'' Taylor said to the Boston Globe. "I've seen a lot. And only through my experiences is when I speak. I don't want to mislead anyone, but if I see someone slacking or not doing the right things, I'll kind of pull them to the side and say, hey, I don't think that will be for the better of the team. I try not to overstep my boundaries.''
