FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots made a series of roster moves to meet the NFL mandatory cut-down to a 75-man roster. The Patriots released three players: LB Ramon Humber, OL Keavon Milton and TE Steven Scheu.

In addition, the Patriots placed RB Dion Lewis and T Sebastian Vollmer on the Reserve/P.U.P. List.

Humber, 28, originally joined the Patriots as a free agent on March 9, 2016 and is a veteran of seven NFL seasons with Indianapolis (2009-10) and New Orleans (2010-15). The 5-foot-11, 232-pounder, was released by New Orleans on Feb. 2, 2016. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Indianapolis in 2009 out of North Dakota State. He made the 53-man roster out of training camp as a rookie and played in all 16 games, starting the final two at linebacker, and finished with 22 total tackles and a team-high 17 special teams tackles. He added three special teams tackles in three postseason games, including Super Bowl XLIV against New Orleans. Humber played in the first two games of the season for Indianapolis in 2010 before being placed on injured reserve. He was signed by New Orleans on Dec. 1, 2010 after being released by Indianapolis on Nov. 9, 2010. Over six seasons with New Orleans, he was a key special teams player as well as a reserve linebacker. Last season, Humber played in 14 games with four starts and finished with 47 total tackles and one sack. Overall, Humber has played in 92 NFL games with 18 starts and has accumulated 194 total tackles, 3½ sacks, four passes defensed and 75 special teams tackles.

Milton, 26, originally joined New England when he was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 10, 2015. The 6-foot-4, 320-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2013 out of Louisiana-Monroe. He was released by the Saints at the end of training camp and claimed off waivers by Cleveland, where he played in eight games on special teams and as a blocking tight end. Milton was released by Cleveland at the end of training camp in 2014 and was signed to the Seattle practice squad on Oct. 29. The Seahawks signed Milton to the 53-man roster on Dec. 20. Milton dressed but did not play in one game and was inactive for the regular-season finale and all three Seattle postseason games. He was released by Seattle on Sept. 5, 2015.

Scheu, 24, was signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent from Vanderbilt on May 6, 2016. The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder, played in 47 career games in college and totaled 83 receptions for 933 yards and eight touchdowns.
