FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced that they have signed DB Brandon King from the practice squad to the 53-man roster and released veteran DB Bradley Fletcher.
King, 22, was signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of Auburn on May 8, 2015. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder, was released on Sept. 5 and signed to the practice squad on Sept. 7. King played at safety and defensive end during his time at Auburn.
Fletcher, 29, signed with the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent from Philadelphia on March 18, 2015. The 6-foot, 205-pounder, played in two of the Patriots first three games and registered 10 total tackles and one forced fumble. Fletcher originally entered the NFL as a third-round (66th overall) draft pick by the St. Louis Rams out of Iowa in 2009. He was signed by Philadelphia as an unrestricted free agent from St. Louis on March 12, 2013. He has played in 73 NFL games with 54 starts.
