Patriots sign second-round pick CB Darius Butler

The New England Patriots announced the signing of second-round draft choice CB Darius Butler today.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots signed second-round draft choice CB Darius Butler today. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Butler, a defensive back from Connecticut, was selected by the Patriots with the third of their four second-round draft picks in 2009, the 41st selection overall.

Butler, 5-10, 185, was a two-year team captain who started all of his 45 career college games at cornerback. He was a first-team All-Big East pick as a senior in 2008. Butler finished his collegiate career with 125 total tackles, 10 interceptions and 26 passes defensed.
