Patriots Football Weekly has created a weekly Power Ranking based on the proprietary Wilson-Hart Power Index. The system uses the most important statistics in the game — those most closely associated to winning and losing — to rank all 32 NFL teams based on their performance to date this season.
The top three spots remain the same this week in the Wilson-Hart Power Index. Seattle and Kansas City maintained their winning ways, while New Orleans' last-second loss in New England wasn't enough to drop the Saints out of the No. 3 slot.
Really the top five spots held steady, as the Colts merely dropped out of a tie for third and into fourth with the tough road loss to the Chargers on Monday night.
Tennessee was one of the big fallers of the week, dropping from a tie for No. 5 all the way down to No. 11 thanks to a loss in Seattle.
The Patriots exciting win bumped Bill Belichick's squad up a spot to No. 7 overall, trailing right behind the still-undefeated Broncos.
The bottom of the Index was shuffled just a bit as Pittsburgh's first win pushed them up from No. 30 to No. 25. And the winless Giants and Jaguars swapped spots again, with Jacksonville returning to the basement.
The Rams were the team picking up the biggest gain in the rankings this week, jumping up 10 spots to No. 15 thanks to the efficient blowout of the Texans. On the other end of the spectrum, Oakland dropped seven places to No. 23 with the convincing loss to the Chiefs.
