Solder returns to practice; Dobson still out

News from Gillette Stadium as the Patriots prepare for their next opponent, the Miami Dolphins.

We learned (very) late Wednesday that a concussion was what kept Nate Solder out of yesterday's practice. However, the left tackle was in uniform for today's workout, which was again held inside the Dana-Farber Field House behind Gillette Stadium.

It's unclear exactly on which play Solder suffered his head injury this past Sunday against Cleveland, but his reappearance today gives hope that he'll be able to dress for the Dolphins game this Sunday in Miami. Had he missed today, too, the likelihood of his being available would have dropped significantly.

That still seems to be the case, unfortunately, for rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson (left foot, injured in Week 12 versus Denver). He was the only Patriot not on the practice field Thursday morning and hasn't been on a game or practice field since the early third quarter against the Broncos three weeks ago.

It's also not clear exactly what's wrong with his left foot, although his appearance in the press box in a medical boot this past game might be an indication that he either broke a bone or is dealing with a high ankle sprain. The latter is a condition that often takes several weeks or more to heal properly.
