Watson Visiting Troops in Iraq, Afghanistan

Patriots tight end Benjamin Watson begins a 12-day tour to thank U.S. troops for their service.

Benjamin Watson is traveling the world right now, albeit to the war-torn Middle East. Yet, he's right where he wants to be today.

"We're excited for what lies ahead," Watson remarked upon landing in Kuwait for the start of a 12-day USO tour of American military bases. The Patriots tight end is among a group of NFL players visiting Iraq and Afghanistan on this year's trip, the 41st NFL/USO tour.

In the days to come, Watson and his gridiron colleagues hope to shake as many troops' hands as possible and say as many thank yous as they can to our brave servicemen and women. Though his long journey is just getting underway, Watson already appears to appreciate the conditions our troops must endure every day.

"I'm really excited for...a hot shower and a good meal," he observed. "It has been more than 24 hours of traveling since I left home."
