Ben Brown, who started 10 games for the Patriots in 2024 at center, started at left guard against Minnesota. The only time Brown has played at guard in the regular season was in his first NFL game vs. Carolina on Sept. 24, 2023, when he played for Seattle and saw action at left guard. Brown moved to center after the first two drives of the game for the next two series.

2025 second-round draft pick RB TreVeyon Henderson capped a 9-play, 52-yard drive with his first rushing touchdown on an 8-yard run on a third-down play in the first quarter.

T Vederian Lowe, G Sidy Sow and T Caedan Wallace made their 2025 debuts after missing the preseason opener.

AUSTIN ENDS MINNESOTA'S SECOND DRIVE WITH A PICK
CB Alex Austin ended the Vikings second drive when he intercepted QB Sam Howell to give New England a first down at the Minnesota 35-yard line. Austin has one career interception in the regular season, at Buffalo on Dec. 31, 2023, with New England.

DRAKE MAYE PLAYED THE FIRST TWO SERIES
QB Drake Maye started the game and played the first two offensive series for the second straight week. He completed 4-of-7 passes for 46 yards with three of his completions going to WR Mack Hollins for 38 yards.

BACKUP QB JOSHUA DOBBS RELIEVED MAYE AFTER FIRST TWO DRIVES
QB Joshua Dobbs entered the game for the third offensive series. He played through the first half. He finished 11-of-16 for 106 yards and culminated a 13-play, 93-yard drive with his first passing touchdown with New England on a 12-yard touchdown pass to WR Efton Chism III in the second quarter.

VETERAN DL KYLE PEKO DEBUTS WITH NEW ENGLAND
Veteran DL Kyle Peko, who signed with New England on Aug. 11, made his debut for the Patriots as a reserve defensive lineman.

2025 third-round draft pick WR Kyle Williams caught his first NFL pass on a 13-yard reception from QB Joshua Dobbs in the first quarter.

CHISM III SCORES ON A 12-YARD TD PASS FOR SECOND-STRAIGHT WEEK
Rookie WR Efton Chism III scored on a 12-yard touchdown pass from QB Joshua Dobbs in the second quarter. It marks his second straight game with a 12-yard touchdown catch. He caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from QB Ben Wooldridge in the third quarter in the preseason-opener vs. Washington.

CHISM III LEADS THE TEAM IN RECEIVING FOR SECOND-STRAIGHT WEEK
Chism III led the team with 6 receptions for 71 yards. He led the team with 6 receptions for 50 yards in the preseason-opener vs. Washington.

ROOKIE WR JEREMIAH WEBB HAD A 59-YARD KICKOFF RETURN
Rookie WR Jeremiah Webb returned a second quarter kickoff 59 yards. It marks the Patriots' third kickoff return of 50 yards in the preseason. RB TreVeyon Henderson returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown vs. Washington and RB Antonio Gibson broke free for a 62-yard kickoff return in the second quarter. Rookie QB Ben Wooldridge entered the game in the third quarter and played the rest of the game. He finished 7-of-13 for 55 yards.
