The Patriots and Giants closed out the preseason against each other for the 14th straight season.

The Patriots snapped a four-game losing streak to the Giants in the preseason-finale with the 17-12 win.
PATRIOTS FINISH WITH A WINNING PRESEASON RECORD
The Patriots finished the 2018 preseason with a 3-1 record, the 8th winning preseason record under Bill Belichick (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2009, 2013, 2016 and 2018).
SEVENTH-ROUND DRAFT PICK QB DANNY ETLING MAKES THE START
QB Danny Etling started and played the entire game, finishing 18-of-32 for 157 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He also rushed seven times for 113 yards, including an 86-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
ETLING'S 86-YARD RUN WOULD HAVE BEEN A PATRIOTS REGULAR-SEASON RECORD
Etling's 86-yard touchdown run would have been the longest run in Patriots history. Larry Garron had a team record 85-yard touchdown run vs. Buffalo on Oct. 22, 1961. Steve Grogan is the only Patriots quarterback to have a 100-yard game in the regular season. He had 103 yards rushing on seven carries on Oct. 18, 1976 vs. the New York Jets.

ROOKIE FREE AGENT DB J.C. JACKSON WITH THE TWO PICKS
Rookie free agent DB J.C. Jackson intercepted two passes off Giants QB Kyle Lauletta. He had his first pick in the first quarter and his second in the third quarter.
K.J. MAYE MAKES PRESEASON DEBUT AND CONNECTS WITH ETLING ON A 45-YARD PASS
WR K.J. Maye made his 2018 preseason debut and caught a 45-yard pass from QB Danny Etling to reach the the 1-yard line in the third quarter, helping to set up a touchdown that gave the Patriots a 10-6 lead.
ROOKIE FREE AGENT RB RALPH WEBB SCORES THIRD TD OF PRESEASON
Rookie RB Ralph Webb capped a third-quarter drive with a 1-yard touchdown pass from QB Danny Etling in the third quarter. Webb scored two rushing touchdowns in the preseason opener vs. Washington on Aug. 9. Webb also converted two two-point conversions in the Redskins game.
