As the new year begins, we take a look back at some of records that were set and some of the numbers that made 2013 unique.

Stephen Gostkowski kicked two 53-yard field goals in the win at Houston on Dec. 1. He is the only Patriots player to kick two 50- yard field goals in the same game. He also had two 50-yard field goals vs. Arizona on Sept. 16, 2012.

Stephen Gostkowski executed a successful onside kick in a victory vs. Cleveland (12/8/13) for only the second time in team, history. The first came when Jim Lee Hunt recovered a Gino Cappelletti kick at the end of the first half in a 26-10 win vs. the NY Jets (9/27/64)

The Patriots own the top three totals in NFL history for most ball control plays from scrimmage with 1,199 in 1994, 1,191 in 2012 and 1,187 in 1995.

Julian Edelman (13) and Danny Amendola (10) each had 10 or more receptions at Miami on Dec. 15, 2013. It is the fourth time in team history that the Patriots had at least two players finish with at least 10 receptions in the same game.

Rookie Logan Ryan returned his first career interception 79 yards for a touchdown at the NY Jets (10/20) to become the 11th Patriots player to return his first career pick for a touchdown.
