Patriots and Bob's Stores team up to spread holiday cheer

On Dec. 23, 2002, the Patriots will take 50 inner-city children to Bob’s Stores in South Attleboro, MA for some holiday shopping.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – On Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, New England Patriots players will spread a little holiday cheer when they take 50 inner-city children shopping at Bob's Stores in South Attleboro, Mass. The children are from Massachusetts and Rhode Island and are active in the youth activities of the Ten Point Coalition of Churches. On Monday, the children selected will gather at the AME Church in Roxbury and will meet the Patriots players at Gillette Stadium. From there, the children and players will go dashing off to Bob's Stores in South Attleboro, where they will enjoy an hour of shopping. The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation and Bob's Stores have each donated $5,000 to the shopping spree, giving each child a $200 store credit to be used to shop for all their winter essentials. Players will serve as "fashion consultants" and "shopping coaches" for the children, helping them with purchasing strategies under their "salary cap."
