Mike Reiss of the MetroWest Daily News reports that the Patriots reached an agreement with running back/return man Chad Morton on a one-year, $600,000 contract yesterday. The Patriots have not officially announced the signing of Morton. *ESPN.com* also reported the signing yesterday.
Patriots great Andre Tippett was one of the honorees presented with an award at Sports Museum's fourth annual awards event at the FleetCenter last night. ''I dreamed, I persevered, and I worked hard," said Tippett during his acceptance speach. ''On a team, it's we and us, not I and me." Steve Buckley of the Boston Herald and Ron Indrisano of the Boston Globe both offer stories on the nights events. Other legends in attendance last night were Celtics great Bob Cousy, Terry O'Reilly - Bruins, and boxing legend Tony DeMarco. Patriots assistant coach Dante Scarnecchia presented Andre Tippett with his award.
