Bill Griffith of the Boston Globe writes an article today on how the media's access to players have changed. Team players & executives are choosing to appear more on sports radio and sports TV shows as it gives them a way to get their individual stories out and dispel incorrect rumors or stories that may be reported by the news media.

Bill Griffith of the Boston Globe also offers an additional article which discusses how much access various news outlets have to NFL teams. National TV networks pay a rights fee and have special access to privaledged information, while the local media has a more regulated access to players/coaches.

Finally, Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa write today in the Boston Herald's "Inside Track" that author David Halberstam will be releasing a new book in November that will take a look at the life and career of Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. The book is tentatively titled "The Education of a Coach."
