The top news of the day was that Patriots defensive lineman Richard Seymour was in camp for the first time since the team came to an agreement on a 2005 pay raise.

Jerome Solomon of the Boston Globe reports that Richard Seymour made his debut at Patriots training camp at yesterday's afternoon practice. Seymour practiced with the team for the first time since the team had reached an agreement with the defensive lineman on a pay raise for this season. Seymour will reportedly make $4 million for the 2005 season. "It's definitely a blessing to be back," said Seymour "It was a rough road, but I had the support of my teammates and also a lot of fans." Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, Tom Curran of the Providence Journal and Mark Farinella of the Sun Chronicle also offers stories on Richard Seymour.

Jerome Solomon and Mark Blaudschun of the Boston Globe write that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had the day off yesterday as it was his birthday. Brady was present during yesterdays practice and was serenated with "Happy Birthday" by a group of rookies before practice. Solomon and Blaudschum also offer practice notes. Karen Gurgelian of the Boston Globe also offers a story on Brady's day off.

Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald offers practice notes and also reports that Rodney Harrison may receive a raise similar to what was worked out with Richard Seymour's deal for this season. Guregian cites a source familiar with the proceedings as hinting that news of the deal may be announced today.
