In an effort to bring more depth and experience behind QB **Tom Brady**, the team released QB Matt Gutierrez and replaced him with Andrew Walter. Walter, at 6-6, 230lbs., spent the previous four seasons as a member of the Oakland Raiders making 15 appearances. According to a *Boston Globe *story, Walter will challenge for the No. 2 or 3 position on the depth chart with Kevin O' Connelland Brian Hoyer.

In other news, rookie DL Ron Braceis ecstatic to be playing for his hometown team. According to the Boston Herald, Brace embodies a Vince Wilforktype player because of his size. See here what Head Coach Bill Belichicksays about Brace's abilities.

Another first-year Patriot, TE Chris Baker, caught up the Globe to discuss his transition to New England. When asked about his on-field connection with Brady, Baker said, “Just trying to get on the same page. I need to know what he’s thinking. He needs to know what I’m thinking. Me being the new guy, it’s important for me to be on the same page as the quarterback.’’
