A light morning for Patriots news.

The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo writes how the Red Sox are learning their lessons on how to become a model sports organization from the Patriots.

"...They are a National Football League success story, on and off the field -- from their ability to build a stadium and generate revenue, to their lucrative media, marketing, and advertising deals; to their methods of player acquisition and development; to their coaching and team-first approach.

"And the biggest reason: three championships in four years..." writes Cafardo.

Cafardo also reports on NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue being summoned by the Congressional committee looking into the use of performance-enhancing drugs in major sports.

Rudy Martzke of USA Today reports that the Sunday night NFL package of games might go to Fox rather than staying in the Disney family as many speculated.

Head Coach Bill Belichick's appearance at Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I., two nights ago has forced the local writers to report on the latest Tedy Bruschi news. Here, Alan Greenberg of the Hartford Courant offers his obligatory follow-up.
