Patriots.com News Blitz - 8/3/2006

In today's News Blitz, more information is reported on Tedy Bruschi's health. Tom Brady addresses the speculation surrounding his recent Sports Illustrated interview.

*The Boston Globe's* Mike Reiss offers an interview with Tom Brady. Two days ago, a story on Sports Illustrated's website included Brady's thoughts on receiver Deion Branch's holdout. The tone of the piece was that Brady was harboring anger toward team management. Brady met with the media yesterday after practice to discuss the issue.

Mike Reiss also offers an article detailing what coach Bill Belichick said in yesterday's press conference when questioned about linebacker Tedy Bruschi's health. Asked to confirm that Bruschi injured his wrist, coach Belichick said, ``His wrist is probably sore. I'm sure he has a lot of sore body parts. He's day to day."

*Boston Herald* writer John Tomase reports that Bruschi has injured the scaphoid bone in his wrist -- a small, peanut-shaped bone. Tomase interviews a specialist, who reports that the injury is difficult to diagnose and painful.

*Boston Globe* writer Jerome Solomon writes that receiver Reche Caldwell is fitting into the system after making the move from the Chargers.

Albert Breer of the *MetroWest Daily News* offers a piece detailing the tribulations of safety Gus Scott.

John Tomase, of the Boston Herald, has camp notes. The general feeling around the team is that training camp intensity is at a challengin, but good level.

*The Providence Journal's* Kevin McNamara reports that yesterday's camp took place while the local heat index was creeping into tripple-digits."I know what our situation is here," Belichick said, "and I can tell you what's going to happen against Buffalo on Sunday if this is the (type of) day we have. The ball will be kicked off at 1:05. I'm just telling you. That ball will be kicked off at 1:05 and both teams will be out there. Don't worry about that. So that's the way it is."

The Globe's Mike Reiss offers his daily blog, which has been tracking camp since it began.
