FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that DL Mike Wright has been placed on injured reserve (concussion) and DB Phillip Adams has been signed to the 53-man roster.
Adams, 5-11, 192 pounds, was originally signed by the Patriots on Sept. 21 and was active but did not play in the games at Buffalo on Sept. 25 and at Oakland on Oct. 2 before being released on Oct. 8. He was originally drafted in 2010 by San Francisco in the seventh round (224 overall) out of South Carolina State. Adams played in 15 games for the 49ers last season and finished with 13 total tackles and one pass defensed.
Wright, 6-4, 295 pounds, played in the season opener at Miami (9/12) and had one tackle and a half a sack and was inactive for the last four games. Wright, who originally joined the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of Cincinnati in 2005, has 174 total tackles and 15.0 sacks in his 81 games with the Patriots.
