The New England Patriots released first-year CB Thad Turner and placed rookie free agent OL Kyle Hix on injured reserve today.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots released first-year CB Thad Turner and placed rookie free agent OL Kyle Hix on injured reserve today.

Turner, 5-11, 188 pounds, was originally signed by Indianapolis as a rookie free agent out of Ohio on April 30, 2010. He was waived by the Colts on Aug, 12, 2010 and signed to the New England practice squad on Nov. 10.

Hix, 6-7, 325 pounds, was originally signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent on July 27, 2011 out of Texas. Hix started 28 games at right tackle before moving to left tackle as a senior in 2010.
