FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots released four players today and now report 64 on their active roster.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots released four players today and now report 64 on their active roster. The team will be required to reduce their squad by another 11 players by Sunday, Sept. 1 to meet the NFL's limit of 53. The four players who were released today are C Patrick Downey, S Chris Hayes, DE Radell Lockhart and LB Ratcliff Thomas.
