Patriots release WR Marquise Walker

The New England Patriots announced the release of wide receiver Marquise Walker today.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass.- The New England Patriots announced the release of wide receiver Marquise Walker today.

Walker, 25, was signed by the Patriots as a free agent on February 6, 2004. The Michigan alum was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round (86th overall) of the 2002 draft. He was placed on injured reserve on October 1, 2002. Walker also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and the Cincinnati Bengals in 2003. He was subsequently released by the Bengals on August 27, 2003.

The 6-foot-2-inch, 210-pound receiver holds the Wolverines' career-record for receptions with 176.
