FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots signed free agent tight end Rodney Trafford today.
Trafford, 24, was a four-year letterman at South Carolina, where he was originally recruited as a quarterback before making the transition to tight end following his red-shirt freshman season. The 6-foot-3-inch, 250-pound New Jersey native caught 6 passes for 37 yards and a touchdown at South Carolina. He was not drafted and was out of football in 2002.
