INDIANAPOLIS - Our buddy Mike Reiss from ESPNBoston.com is always on the lookout for the hidden stories and this one certainly qualifies.

He tells us he spoke with a late-round defensive line prospect names Markus Kuhn of N.C. State who was born in Germany - just like Patriots tackle Sebastian Vollmer.

Reiss said Kuhn came to the United States on a college tour when he was 20, saying he hoped to play football. While not the same path that Vollmer took, Kuhn was well aware of him.

"He's an unbelievable story," said Kuhn, who like Baylor center Philip Blake is one of the older prospects at 26.
