Report: Patriots 'inquired' about Eagles WR Jackson

New England has been aggressively working the wide receiver market and has reportedly shown interest in Eagles Pro Bowler DeSean Jackson.

According to a report from Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia the Patriots have "inquired" about trading for Eagles playmaking Pro Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

The Eagles are apparently "listening to offers" for Jackson and both New England and the 49ers have at least inquired about acquiring the receiver who caught 82 passes for 1,332 yards with nine touchdowns last fall and has averaged an impressive 17.2 yards per catch over his six NFL season in Philly.

The Eagles are apparently "seeking at least a third-round pick and potentially more for Jackson."

Jackson is two years into a $51 million extension he signed with the Eagles and scheduled to have a base salary of $10.25 million this season.

This report comes on the same day that New England officially announced the re-signing of receiver Julian Edelman. The Patriots also signed free agent Brandon LaFell this week, while the team has been linked in free agency to the likes of Kenny Britt and Steve Smith, although the latter signed with the Ravens.
