Reports: WR Laurent Robinson visiting the Patriots

With training camp about to kick off, the Patriots reportedly are working out veteran WR Laurent Robinson.

According to a variety of reports the Patriots are hosting free agent wide receiver Laurent Robinson for a visit in Foxborough on Tuesday. Robinson apparently is making the tour of the AFC East, as he worked out for the Jets on Monday.

Robinson is a former Jaguar, Cowboy, Ram and Falcon who had a career-high 54 catches and 11 touchdowns in Dallas in 2011. He moved on to Jacksonville as a free agent a year ago but played in just seven games and notched only 24 catches while dealing with multiple concussions last fall.

The 6-2, 205-pound Robinson is a veteran of six previous NFL seasons with 167 career receptions for 2,110 yards and 15 touchdowns.

He's at least the second wide receiver with concussion issues that the Patriots have worked out this offseason as the team previously reportedly met with former Colt Austin Collie.

As it stands right now, New England is at the 90-man roster limit after Monday's signing of rookie defensive lineman Anthony Rashad White.
