Bills OL Williams hurts back

Bills guard Mike Williams was carted from the sideline with a back injury in the second quarter of Buffalo's game against Carolina.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (Nov. 27, 2005) -- Bills guard Mike Williams was carted from the sideline with a back injury in the second quarter of Buffalo's game against Carolina.

Williams was hurt earlier in the quarter while pass blocking on tight Ryan Neufeld's 9-yard reception deep in Bills territory. He made his way off the field on his own, and was immediately attended to on the Buffalo sideline.

He then was examined for an injured back muscle.

Formerly a right tackle, Williams was making his second start at left guard. He had missed four games earlier this season with an ankle injury.

Former starter Bennie Anderson replaced Williams in the lineup.
