Dolphins sign WR Murphy after tryout

Receiver Frank Murphy, who has played in three NFL games since 2002, signed with the Miami Dolphins after trying out in a rookie minicamp last weekend.

MIAMI (May 8, 2006) -- Receiver Frank Murphy, who has played in three NFL games since 2002, signed with the Miami Dolphins after trying out in a rookie minicamp last weekend.

Murphy played for Tampa Bay in 2004 but missed most of the season with a ruptured Achilles' tendon. He played in five games with Houston in 2002 and was out of football in 2003.

Murphy has eight career receptions and has returned 31 kickoffs for a 21.8-yard average.
