FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots are proud to announce that QB Drake Maye has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Patriots 33-15 victory over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. It is the first Offensive Player of the Week for a New England player since Week 16 of the 2017 season when RB Deion Lewis was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after the Patriots 37-16 victory at Buffalo on Dec. 24, 2017. It is also the second straight week that a Patriots earned a Player of the Week honor. Rookie K Andy Borregales was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the win at Cincinnati last week.
Maye completed 24-of-31 passes for 282 yards with 2 touchdowns and a 126.0 passer rating in his first Monday Night Football appearance. Maye is the third quarterback under the age of 24 with at least 10 games in a season with at least 200 yards passing and a passer rating of more than 100.0 in NFL history after finishing with 282 yards and a passer rating of 126.0 against the Giants, joining Patrick Mahomes (13 games in 2018) and Matthew Stafford (10 games in 2011).
It is the fifth time in 2025 that the Patriots have been awarded an AFC Player of the Week honor. In addition, the Patriots were awarded an AFC Defensive Player of the Month for October.
