The New England Patriots will look to extend their winning streak to 11 straight wins when they host the Buffalo Bills in the second meeting of the season. The Patriots and Bills met in a Sunday Night Football game at Buffalo on Oct. 5, a 23-20 New England win. A victory over Buffalo this week will give the Patriots their 22nd Division title since the 1970 season, their first division title since the 2019 season and a bid to their 29th playoff appearance. Twenty-two of those playoff berths have come in the 32 seasons since Robert Kraft purchased the team in 1994, a dramatic contrast to the six total playoff berths the team earned in its first 34 years of existence. The Patriots have won 22 division crowns - 19 since Robert Kraft's purchase in 1994.

SERIES HISTORY
The New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills will meet for the second time in 2025. The Patriots beat Buffalo, 23-20, in the first meeting on Oct. 5 in a Sunday Night Football game at Highmark Stadium. This week, the Patriots will look for their third straight win over Buffalo and look to complete their 28th series sweep and first since the 2019 season.
The teams have split the annual series in each of the last two years. Last season, the Patriots lost at Buffalo, 24-21, on Dec. 22 and then two weeks later beat Buffalo in the season-finale, 23-16, on Jan. 5, 2025.
This week's game will be the 133rd meeting between the two teams. New England holds a 80-51-1 edge in the series and has won 39 of the last 50 regular season games between the clubs, dating back to 2000.
The Patriots are 41-24 all-time at home against Buffalo, including 18-5 at Gillette Stadium.
The series between the AFC East rivals began in 1960. The Patriots' 80 wins over the Bills are their highest victory total over any opponent, four higher than their next highest win total against the New York Jets (76).
After seven-straight series sweeps and 15-consecutive Patriots wins from 2003-10, Buffalo ended the streak with a 34-31 victory at Ralph Wilson Stadium in the first meeting between the teams in 2011. The 15-game win streak is tied for the longest streak over a single opponent in team history with 15-straight wins over the New York Jets.
The teams have had many memorable matchups over the years, including a span from 1999 to 2001, where four-of-six contests were decided in overtime.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR...
- A victory over Buffalo this week will give the Patriots their 22nd division title since the 1970 season, trailing only Pittsburgh (24). It would be their first division title since the 2019 season.
- A victory this week will give the Patriots their 29th playoff appearance.
- A victory over the Buffalo Bills this week will give the Patriots their 12th win of the season and their 14th 12-win season in team history, which is third all-time since 1970, behind San Francisco (16) and Dallas (15).
- A win this week against Buffalo will extend the Patriots' winning streak to 11 straight wins. It would be the third-longest single-season streak overall in team history. The Patriots have had streaks of at least 11 straight wins in a season two previous times in team history with a 12-game streak in 2003 and a 16- game streak in 2007.
- New England became the first team in NFL history to win 10 consecutive games with at least 23 points scored and 23-or-less points allowed in each game. The 1961 Houston Oilers had a streak of nine such games. The Patriots will attempt to extend that mark this week when they face the Buffalo Bills.
- A victory this week vs. Buffalo will push the Patriots to a 4-0 record in AFC East games for the first time since starting with a 5-0 record in division play in 2019. This season, they are also 4-0 vs. the NFC South and 5-0 vs. the NFC.
- The Patriots beat Buffalo, 23-20, in the first meeting of the 2025 season on Oct. 5 in Buffalo on Sunday Night Football. A victory this week against Buffalo will give the Patriots their 28th series sweep and their first series sweep since the 2019 season.
- With a win this week against the Bills, Mike Vrabel can become the third head coach since 1970 to record a winning streak of 11 or more games in his first season with a team, joining Jim Caldwell (14 consecutive wins with Indianapolis in 2009) and Steve Mariucci (11 with San Francisco in 1997).
- A win this week against Bills will give Vrabel his second 12-win season as a head coach. He led the Tennessee Titans to a 12-5 record in 2021.
- A win this week against Buffalo will earn the Patriots the AFC East Division title. It will be third time as a head coach that Vrabel has led his team to a division title. He led the Tennessee Titans to the AFC South division title in 2020 and 2021.
- CB Marcus Jones returned a first quarter punt 94 yards for a touchdown in the last game against the Giants. If the Patriots return a punt for a touchdown this week against Buffalo, it will be the first time in team history that they have returned a punt for a touchdown in back-to-back games. The last NFL player to return a punt for a touchdown in back-to-back weeks was CB Patrick Peterson in 2011 when he played for Arizona – at Baltimore (10/30) and vs. St. Louis (11/6).
- Drake Maye enters this week against Buffalo first in the NFL with a 71.5 completion percentage. Tom Brady has the New England record for a season with a 68.9 completion percentage in 2007. Brady was the last Patriots player to lead the NFL in completion percentage when he did so in 2007. Maye's 71.5 completion percentage would be the seventh-best in NFL history.
- Maye enters this week second in the NFL with 3,412 passing yards to the 3,647 passing yards by Dak Prescott of Dallas. The last Patriots player to lead the NFL in passing yards was Tom Brady with 4,577 passing yards in 2017. The Patriots have had a player finish first in passing yards five times: Babe Parilli (1964), Drew Bledsoe (1994) and Tom Brady (2005, 2007 and 2017).
- Maye has 23 touchdown passes in 2025 and needs 2 touchdown passes this week against Buffalo to mark the 20th time that a Patriots quarterback will reach 25 touchdowns in a season. Maye will join Tom Brady (14), Drew Bledsoe (3), Steve Grogan (1) and Babe Parilli (1) as the Patriots quarterbacks with at least 25 touchdown passes in a season.
- TE Hunter Henry enters this week second on the team with 610 receiving yards. He needs 65 receiving yards this week against the Bills to set a new single-season career high. Last season, he set a career-high with 674 receiving yards. This season, Henry is fourth in the league in receiving yards among tight ends.
- LB Christian Elliss registered a career-high 4 special teams tackles last game against the Giants. If he records at least 3 special teams tackles this week against Buffalo, he will join LB Jack Gibbens as the second Patriots player to record backto-back games with at least 3 special teams tackles. Gibbens had 3 special teams tackles vs. Carolina (9/28) followed by 3 special teams tackles at Buffalo (10/5). Since 2000, no Patriots player has had 4 special teams tackles in back-to-back games.
- LB Harold Landry III is leading the Patriots with 7½ sacks. If he registers 2½ sacks this week against Buffalo, he will reach at least 10 sacks for the third time in his career. He had 12 sacks in 2021 and 10½ sacks in 2023 when he played for Tennessee. Landry has recorded at least 2½ sacks in a game twice in his career with 3 sacks at Miami (12/11/23) and 2½ sacks in his Patriots debut vs. Las Vegas on Sept. 7, 2025.
- LB Robert Spillane has two interceptions in 2025. If he records an interception this week against the Bills, it will mark the 13th season that a Patriots linebacker has finished a season with at least three interceptions since 1970.
